We would like to extend an invitation to school boards from the London Region to participate in this exciting one-day event. Through a multitude of workshops, a panel, resource display area and key note address you will hear the expertise of a variety of presenters from throughout the region on topics relevant to meeting the needs of Aboriginal learners and increasing the awareness of all learners about First Nation, Métis, and Inuit histories, cultures and perspectives.

EDU-KIT DISPLAY
This will be an unprecedented opportunity to increase your board’s Aboriginal resources that can be used in the classroom at all grade levels. Local artisans, Aboriginal organizations and Aboriginal education enterprises will be on hand in the resource display area to:
- Provide information on their resources
- Give detailed descriptions of their cultural relevance
- Make connections to Ontario Curriculum expectations
- Provide resources for immediate purchase
All of which will assist boards with the creation of their own board’s Aboriginal Edu-kits.
We hope you will join us for the Aboriginal Cultural Awareness and Student Achievement Symposium! District school boards are invited to send a team of seven (7) representatives comprising of the following:
- Trustee of the Board
- Director or Designate
- Board Aboriginal Education Lead
- Elementary Principal
- Secondary Principal
- Elementary Teacher
- Secondary Teacher

The session will begin at 9:00 a.m. Sign-in, coffee and refreshments will be available starting at 8:30 a.m. Lunch is also provided.
REGISTRATION
We would like to request that the board’s Superintendent responsible for Aboriginal Education register all participants from their board team for the symposium and workshops. We would like each team member to choose a different workshop so that all members of the team can report back about the workshop during the team debriefing. Please see attached schedule of workshops.

Please ensure that the header of the form with school name is completed. Please return the registration form no later than Monday, April 7, 2008.
